Forestación en Santiago

‘How living walls and greenery could affect the air quality of Santiago city, rebalancing its natural ecosystem through specific interventions depending on the city’s density’

This dissertation topic gave me the opportunity to study the city of Santiago, Chile, understanding and overlapping aspects that are not commonly crossed, layering multiple factors that influence and determine the way their inhabitants live. Complex geographic, meteorological, physical and social phenomena were overlaid in my research, with the purpose of understanding how plants could help us clean the air and improve ventilation, also considering psychological benefits. Other aspects in the city, such as transportation, current regulations and even genetic interventions to plants are some issues mentioned and analysed here, with the final object of introducing forestation in Santiago in a sensible and responsible way.
